The Little Red Hen’s Decision

Once upon a time, in a quaint little village, there lived a hardworking Little Red Hen. One fine morning, she decided to make some delicious bread from the freshly grown wheat in her garden.

The Little Red Hen’s Proposal

With a gleam in her eye and a spring in her step, she approached her farmyard neighbors – a Duck, a Cat, and a Dog – and proposed, “Who will help me plant the wheat grains to make bread?”

The Duck’s Excuse

“Not I,” quacked the Duck, “I’m too busy swimming and preening my feathers.”

The Cat’s Excuse

“Not I,” meowed the Cat, “I’m too lazy to help. I’d rather nap in the sun.”

The Dog’s Excuse

“Not I,” barked the Dog, “I’d love to help, but I have four paws and they’re all tired.”

The Little Red Hen’s Determination

With no help from her friends, the Little Red Hen didn’t waste a minute feeling sorry for herself. She rolled up her sleeves, if she had any, and got to work. Day after day, she tended to the wheat, talking to each stalk as if they were old friends. “Grow tall and strong, my beauties,” she’d whisper. Her determination shone as brightly as the sun above, guiding her through each step of the way.

The Harvest

Time flew by, and soon the field was swaying with wheat ready for harvest. Once again, the Little Red Hen asked her friends for help. “Who will help me reap the wheat and grind it into flour?” she called out, hoping this time would be different. But silence was her only response. With a sigh, she decided to press on, harvesting the wheat with her own two wings. It was hard work, but seeing the fruits of her labor made it all worthwhile.

The Neighbors’ Regret

As the smell of fresh bread began to fill the air, the Duck, the Cat, and the Dog couldn’t ignore it. They watched as the Little Red Hen worked, and a feeling of regret washed over them. “We should’ve helped her,” they whispered among themselves, realizing their mistake. They approached the Little Red Hen, offering to help her with the next batch of bread.

The Rewards of Teamwork

This time, working together, they found the task easier and much more enjoyable. Laughter and chatter filled the air as they baked bread, each loaf more delicious than the last. Sitting down to enjoy the bread together, the Little Red Hen smiled, grateful for the change in her friends. From that day on, they never hesitated to help each other, understanding the true value of teamwork and perseverance.
